The world slows

And every day is "new"

Could be the same stuff, different day

But it's not because of you



Take a good look around you

What you see might not be there tomorrow

Existence, Fade and Disappear

Are three words that I've borrowed

From a life that can only be questioned

And there's no answer to this sorrow

But you are why I'm here

You are why I look forward to tomorrow



The stars are on God's canvas above

But I have to ask why

Just to look pretty and paint pictures in the sky

It couldn't be to light up my life

Because I believe that's never been right

It's you who gets my better and best reaction

Those stars are just there to cause a distraction



Drawn to you is what am

I won't give up on you because I can't

It's never been my nature, never my mindset;

To be with you, I can never forget

That life is hard, never easy to understand

But it can be still

And will

When we're hand in hand



So come with me up above this world

To look down on what we don't have

And what we do

We have friends, family, maybe more

But what we've got is a lot better:

You have me and I have you



One day we'll make sense of this

And it'll overpass every trouble

That was once had

But now lies in the rubble

Of a ruined world,

Crushed under it's own destruction...



But we'll be above it all

Never having to worry again

Resting safely in my arms

You will be protected then

But for now we're still a part of this world

And for now we're still friends



...But the future never looked so good
