Hidden behind the prudent picture I project
Streams of murky musings and needs I must neglect
One would not suspect these longings I protect
Deep with dimension and difficult to dissect
I come across as a docile dog who seldom deviates
Sullen and still with moods which fail to fluctuate
Though I appear to adhere to the clear conventions
What seethes beneath pretension too terrible to mention
And having flirted with fulfilling my fantasies
I've found it's best to bind them in the confines of my mind
Where they only exist in the mist of the realm of my design
If they were exposed they'd decompose- melting majesty
Pull back on my praise and reel in my tongue
The guidelines have changed since I was young
And one may object if I seem too impressed
Thus I render my relish remote and suppressed
With zeal concealed and zest at rest
Not one can accuse me of being a pest
I won't be enthused lest I stand accused
And called into question with all things to lose
I shall not be forthcoming with what I admire
Lest it be construed as carnal desire
I cannot control how they read my behavior
And I dare not be open with the moments I savor
