I'd like to love you



But I can't feel



I'd like to touch you



But I can't feel



So even if you did



Stretch out your hand,





In sweet caress



It wouldn't matter



'Cause I won't feel it



And have you ever



Visited the battlefield



Ten hours later



It's all over



The tremor continues



That battlefield's my soul



A tattered-American flag



And it still stands but barely



Chunks missing



It's not 'all there'



And yet the world rejoices



But I can't



'Cause I can't feel



And what's to do now?



Hang this tattered beauty



Next to the world's best new



Oh please, just hide me



'Cause I can't feel



The way they stair



And I don't know of love



I could use a dictionary



And what is the word Bliss?



And I'm so clueless



And I don't care



'Cause I can't feel



So please don't love me



I can't feel



I'll never know your beauty



And please, please don't think I'm cold



Because I am



And please, please don't think I've always been this way



'Cause I can't remember



And when, when was the last time



You held a girl whom couldn't cry?
