The Suicidal Butterfly

Folder:
Self harm/Suicide

I will fly like a butterfly

As I jump from this bridge

Flutter and spin

Then sadly losing my wings

Crashing and smashing

Sailing toward earth

A wingless insect

With nothing since birth

Close my eyes tight

I hatch from the womb

Of hatred

The feeling for life

Which is ending so soon

Author's Notes/Comments:

A poem I wrote in memory of a butterfly I named Joanna, about her death and my own suicidal desires.
