Healing Wounds

The wounds were so deep,

Scar tissue formed so thick,

Complete healing seems a dream,

The sores, I'd constantly pick.

The things said to me,

Caused frustration and pain,

I'd sit and remember,

Till the wounds bled like rain.

Each year that goes by,

The wounds don't seem to heal.

Afraid to touch them close,

The pain would make me reel!

God, you promised me,

The pain you could relieve,

I look at the wound and doubt,

It's so hard to believe.

So here at your feet,

I lay my fear down.

Your body for mine wounded.

For my pain, You took the crown.

Soon the scars will heal,

In it's place will be strength.

The character of God shines,

His glory through life's length!
