The Manger to The Cross

A manger sits in the corner,

An odd crib for the baby's head.

Mary and Joseph looking down,

Wondering if this is where God led.

The gifts brought to this babe,

  Giving honor and respect due,

Showing both his royal birth,

  And humble beginnings too.

A new star shines brightly,

To lead the wise men's way,

Angels tell the shephards about the babe,

To whom homage they will pay.

The Babe of humble birth,

Who's life will change the world,

Sleeping peacefully now,

God's promised plan to be unfurled.

The Christ child is born,

To save each man, young and old.

To live and walk, then to die,

But will rise again, the prophets told.

The manger sits on the corner,

The start of the road to the cross,

Giving us an example of love,

The salvation offered to the lost.
