Prejudice?

Talk to her, Lord?

Are you sure that's your plan?

She's different from me!

     She's from Iraq or Iran!

What could I possibly say?

Why would she listen to me?

She has her own faith, I'm sure!

She wouldn't care 'bout Calvary's Tree!

Show her Your love and grace?

But what if she walks away?

Could I handle her rejection of me,

If she won't listen to what I say?

Give me humility to show Your face,

Father forgive me for my sin,

Assuming that person won't care,

Assuming she won't let you in.

It's Your love that needs to shine,

Not my judgment to be unkind.

Show Your love to Your creation,

We are all one in God's mind.

Author's Notes/Comments:

As a Christian, I believe in sharing my faith ..not shoving it down other's throats, but sharing what I believe to be true with anyone who wants to know ...but do I avoid sharing that faith with those that I concieve as being different from me because of their difference? Why is it OK to share my faith with the blond haired blue eyed girl but not the dark haired dark eyed, obviously foriegn girl? Should I not share based on wanting to share my faith ..not who I am sharing it with?

I can understand your sentiment expressed through your beautiful poem. You have really hit the nail on the head. Faith in God. Whichever name we give him to remember his presence. Naturally it has to differ that we have innumerable phonetics that unite in his glory.
