God's Beautiful Home

The dwelling place for Jehovah,

     The Tabernacle of old.

Sacrifice of incense given,

The table and alter in bright gold.

Beauty prevails in the Holy place,

     Regal curtains house the Lord.

Lampstands burn hot the oil of God,

Gold, Bronze from ceiling to floor.

Perfection's great plan revealed then,

God's house no sin could enter.

The plan one of beauty and love,

The priests hearts to be mentored.

A picture for all men to see,

The home for God's dwelling place.

Royal purples and reds and blues,

Showing us a glimpse of God's face.

On that wooden cross long ago,

     Jesus was the sacrifice.

Offering salvation for all,

     His life's blood completed price.

God's dwelling place now in my heart,

     The darkness transformed to light.

Beauty revealed by Jehovah,

     Ashes exchanged for gold, bright.

The Tabernacle so elegant,

     Nothing ugly could survive.

Now my heart God's house and home,

     Jesus' beauty in me revived.
