Carbs are the Enemy

Carbs are the Enemy

Clark Steven Lupton

2003

Carbs are the enemy

Let me tell you that

If you do not exercise

They will make you fat

Carbs are found in starchy foods

Like spaghetti, pizza and bread

You will surely gain more weight

It is often said

But if you are an athlete

Like a runner full of grace

You will often carbo load

The night before a race

Because carbohydrates are energy

You should eat them if you're wise

You're not getting fat because of carbs

It's because you lack exercise!

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem may make sense one month and be wrong the next because the word on carbohydrates for energy, weightloss, etc changes all the time.
