YOU HURRY ME ALL ALONG!
You hurry me all along and I'm on course!
Into the world I've decended in undue haste;
I am compelled to graft wasting no time;
No doubt, I’d lag behind if I don't care.
No time I’m spared to reach my destiny,
And I’m being hurried all the more;
To make me vie and stay in race;
Yet, I don’t know what my goal is!
From pillar to post I run wasting little;
Or I’d otherwise, find no means to settle!
‘Settling in Life’ doesn’t mean ‘Taking Rest’
But picking up pace to run the ‘Family Race’.
Oh! Everything I find competes in a hurry;
A break-neck speed; none can keep, pace with!
To work, I often rush in awesome haste;
As I always see a demon waiting to prey on me.
At lunch, tea and dinner I spend little time;
As I grab my grub and swallow that I could cud-chew;
What for? After all, I put myself in undue haste;
Oh! Now, I understand the need to step up the pace.
One doesn’t know how far he needs to stretch;
As the span of life and end, no one is aware of;
The life journey that kick-starts and abruptly ends,
Makes people hurry to do things in haste.
No matter, it lets a few to travel up to, half way mark;
And allows the lucky ones to hit a magnificent century!
Nevertheless, they run out of breath while keeping pace;
Oh! I don’t know what chases me from behind!
Yet, the inner mind keeps telling me, it’s nothing else;
But the thought about Death that puts me in fits;
As it’s ready to engross me at any stage; and so
I got to hurry, to finish off my earthly chores!
