EVERGREEN THOUGHTS

EVERGREEN THOUGHTS

Thoughts are so serene and warm,

Like the embedded seeds of a farm;

Bounce back like the turbulent storm

Shatter the mind, that’s so calm.

What these thoughts are? I often yawn;

Had they nurtured, as I was born?

Kindle my spirit as I go on;

With evergreen cherished thoughts of dawn.

Happier and happier, as days rolled on,

Father and mother, as days pulled on;

Brothers and sisters; and friends for long,

Flowers and lovers, as days bygone.

Sweeter and sweeter, the dreams kept on,

But bitter and bitter, as days flashed on;

Boldness and braveness; I just cried on,

Are the words, I forgot to act upon!

Too late they say, as I march on,

Silver my hair, as they grow on;

But tender my age, as I was born,

Craving and crying, for the age so gone.

But the evergreen thoughts are so fresh and strong,

Like inscribed stone-words of long;

Cumbersome and tiresome these days are,

At the fag end of my life so gone…!

Author's Notes/Comments:

The writer remembers his young age and his evergreen thoughts.  He is so frustrated that he should have had some boldness  to take decisions when he was young; and now, he feels that it's too late; as he is old enough.
