Words
Hei! You posses me like
The devils that are hard to get rid of
How is it I pay, such a glorious tribute?
To you, for what you make me mean.
‘Words’, by what you are named
Without you, my spirit goes numb
I go dumb when I am not listened to
And go mad when I am misunderstood.
You haunt me like the ghost of yesteryears
But coax me with your unfathomable meanings
It’s so hard to get you at times
Yet, I’ve become, a slave to you!
You’re no doubt, like the ghost of the desert
The ghost that had seen, the perils of many
No doubt you seem to linger on
And deliver the words of ‘Birth and Death’.
Birth, growth, love, lust and death
Blessed and cursed by words on earth
Men, women, adults, kids and old
Nevertheless, lip these words as per age.
Oh! I can’t be at loggerheads
‘Coz I just love the way, you haunt me
Unwilling to leave me, even at extremes
And provide me ‘Words’, till ‘Life’s last breath!’
