Dead Man Walking

Why do you kill me?

Put me to death!

You know I'm getting off easy?

It's not a secret...

God does not view my soul as sleazy.

The world may hate me.

And yes!

The death sentence for my sins

I've been given.

But, I've made my peace with the lord

My soul he has forgiven.

You must know, I'll be at peace there.

True punishment would have been,

Me living in the despair of my sin!

Intresting commentary, sumed up in the last couplet: 'True punishment would have been, Me living in the despair of my sin! Somtimes a smitten conscience is heavy burden to bear... Which makes the prospect of death easy to endure if we believe what the bible says about "the wages of sin" and death I follow your Logic clearly If my sins are paid for in death then what is there for me to fear - if forgiven my soul rest with God... How much punishment is there if my debt is speedly paid... Let God alone be my Judge! Great Commentary! Keep writing - keep the faith
