Winter Has Begun
There's an old saying
"when it rains it pours"
but what about the storms that come with it
The lightning effect that can cripple you in an instant
The high winds that can blow your mind into oblivion
The thunder that can shake a soul into submission
and then there is the Flood
The ocean of tears that comes with one good man down
and another not far behind.
Winter came earlier than expected today
as I was holding onto my dad
in a hope that we will see Spring together
My brother-in-law found Heaven in the woods
in a tangle with a tree
That stood its ground
HOPE
what does it stand for?
I've been telling my sister for two days
the he just needed a break
to get away from things for awhile
that he would be back Home soon
Was I a liar
or a believer in a word that has great expectations
but can sink you in a lifeslide of deafening screams
if it gets lost in a downpour of torrential failure?
Today was the worst of days to come I'm afraid
Winter has already left its marker
Closer to Seven than Six, standing Tall was never a problem
A husband, father, family man, biker, and Always a Marine
Gone to Glory with his bike in a field now mixed with his own soil
as the haunting echo's of another war are finally laid to rest with him
and his smile is forever sealed in our hearts
Goodbye Tim, My Beautiful Brother
I just got through giving the details to my father
the tears wouldn't stop as my heart was heavy in one passing
while I clung to the HOPE of Springtime
right there in front of me
There's that word again, right in the eye of a hurricane
I HOPE it's stronger this time
because it damn sure just failed miserably
...For those who don't know, my father is in failing health which is kinda where "Another day in the life of missing you" stemmed from *sigh* Today was a very heavy and sad day, my brother-in-law who had been missing since Monday afternoon was found by someone passing by who was looking for deer... Folks have been looking for Tim for two days, even two of his friends drove by the spot he was found twice this morning and didn't see him as he was behind some trees... Here is an excerpt from the tv news report...
Quote:
GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- The body of a Denison man who had been missing for two days was found Wednesday morning lying in a ditch off West Washington Street in Sherman.
Details are still sketchy at this time but it appears 56-year-old Timothy Lee Combs was en route to Bethany Methodist Church in Sherman on Monday when he ran his 1991 black Harley Davidson motorcycle off the road to the right and hit a fence and tree.
We’re told family members did inform Grayson County authorities of Combs’ disappearance. They were set to begin a search early Wednesday morning, but before the search began a passerby found combs body and reported it to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
RIP My Brother...and Sis, Hang in there...
