When someone dies,
You're never truly okay.
Even if it was only your dog,
That passed away.
It was more than a year ago,
When your beat its last beat.
Sometimes I still wonder,
If you're watching over me.
I love you so much,
It will never end.
You were than a pet,
You were my best friend.
MY GRACIE
lovely poem for Gracie...I believe they sense that we are here.
Thank you!
Thank you so much. I believe so too, and that thought is what makes me feel better when it hits me that she's gone. Thanks.

What a sweet Memorial to your beloved dog!
Brooke,
I am certain your beloved Gracie appreciates you immortalizing her . I've a beloved Gracie all my own. 9 years old but thinks shes 4 and I am sure when her time comes to go home to Heaven I will write a poem for her and tell of her life. My 11 year old Sophie too for that matter. Remember dogs are the best way God shows us what true unconditional love is like. She is no longer hurting and is happy and I am sure there are plenty of lovely meadows in the landscapes of Heaven for her to run tirelessly in and birds to bark at and cats and other small furry animals to chase without end and frolicking laughing children too to play with. I bet she is even burying a bone or two joyously. I've lost a few dogs in my time to old age. They lived glorious love filled lives and gave so much joy, laughter and pleasure. Grieve your sweet Gracie fully but then go to a local animal shelter and save another life or two ( as dogs are very social animals and its nice that they have another dog in the house when you go off to school or work) and let them fill your years with more love and play and tell them of your Gracie so when they too pass they can run and find her in Heaven and all can play together and wait until your own return to them. That's the beauty of love it goes on and on and it never ends, not even in death for death is of the body Love is of the soul. Oh, and I hope you keep a photo in a frame of your Gracie somewhere in your house so you will honor her just like you would any other beloved family member. I have photos of all my dogs as I never want to forget them and so when guests who come to visit me they see them and know that they were on this earth and they mattered and still matter. I am a better human for having been loved and surrounded by dogs. You never hear any human ever regretting that they loved a dog. Try to remember too that God blessed you immensely when you gained the love of such a beautiful being as that of one of his finest emissaries sent into this world. Pure hearted creatures over flowing with love, that of the so under appreciated dog. May God rest and bless every beloved dog's soul. Sincerely, Melissa Lundeen
Thanks!
Thank you so so much! I am going to an animal shelter, but I'm going to get a cat this time, since my cat recently passed as well. I miss them both, and I always will! Thanks for your comfort. (:
