True Beauty

May the moon descend upon you,

May it’s rays guide your way.

May the ocean waves reach  you,

And wash away your decay.

May the mountains give you courage,

May their beauty give you awe.

May the valleys widen your mind,

And open your heart to the core.

May the wind whisper to you,

May the rain heal your woes.

May the flowers give you beauty,

And give you passion that shows.

May the trees give you strength,

And birds lift your spirits high.

May your friends give you comfort,

So you shall never cry.

May you always see the beauty,

That lays deep with in.

For beauty isn’t on the top,

It’s what’s beneath the skin.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem is for my daughter Tiffany.
I hope she will grow to know that beauty is about who you are as a person not what you look like.
