The Lost Leucothea

There I lay on the sandy beach

Lost once more, with in that same dream

Decades ago I still remember the day,

Since it was late, and none had taken the bait

Like a mural of perfection the goddess emerged,

Beautiful and bold,

Tales of pursuit she told

Why did she always lurk by the net? Oh why did she always dare,

It was as if, around her, none should spare

She captivated me for hours,

Watching her made the day not so sour,

But alas, when the day ends, comes the night

With my hands I let her leave along with my bright

A fond memory remains, but the moment passed

And now I only wish I had known, never again will I surpass

They tell me there are plenty of fish in the sea,

I tell them, only that one was meant for me!
