Acronychal Rising

Based on the phrase Acronychal Rising from Starward’s poem "27.055 MHz: That Summer's Weekend Evenings; Their Sum; For BlueLevels" formerly under the title “Circa 1976: That Summer's Weekend Evenings; Their Sum; For BlueLevels”

--------------------------------------------

Starward I gaze

At the fiery horizon

All Scarlet and Tyrian purple.

The morning star

Kissing goodnight

The frontier

Where the sky

Meets the Earth.

The evening star

Waking, Stretching,

Reaching for Empyrean.

Conspiring with

The twilight void,

Time steals daylight.

Two stars dance

Devouring each other’s light.

I see you there not really

Hiding in the shadows.

Your words wash over me

Transporting me back circa 1976.

That awkward uncertain time:

Innocent,

Fearful,

Rebellious,

Discovering,

Bold.

You there

Reading the grimoire

As your conjuration

Distills the decoction

Of your youthful passions

Potent and intoxicating.

The psithurism whispering

Nature has no opposites,

No outside, no inside…

Just truth!

I am very grateful,

I am very grateful, delightfully flattered, and just downright pleased to be included in this beautiful poem.  Thank you so much for posting it, and for making the present rough patch easier to bear today.  Thank you, thank you; and again, thank you.
