The first day of May
on the way to work today
my shoes fell apart someway
they were very old
truth be told
the bottom separated from the top
I didn't have time to stop
I didn't want to be late
so the shoe situation had to wait
soon as I got in I found some duct tape
to keep the shoes together seemed to work great
I joked I should do a duct tape commercial
so many uses and this one was critical
I needed to use
my shoes
at least until help arrived
on their last legs the shoes thrived
got my husband to bring me another pair
problem solved so there
the rest of the day
it was gonna be one of those days
in a daze
what else could go wrong
don't ask...story is too long
suffice it to say
I can't wait til the end of May
if the rest of the month is like today

This is a true story...truth is stranger than fiction...at least had a good laugh about it ...there is a first time for everything...but I bet this situation is pretty rare...at least I hope so...geez, what a day...but managed to laugh about it all and make fun of myself and the situation...it was just too weird...even for me and believe me lots of weird stuff has happened to me...Oh, ya, I was telling a store manager,Nate, about my dilemma and he was the one that said May Day so thanks for the inspiration for the title of this poem, Nate... VIRGO (Aug 23 - Sep 22): You might have to set aside your calendar and throw away the maps. Forget about whatever plans you've made, for today is up for grabs. You may feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty, for you really don't know what's going to happen. The more you struggle to make a situation go the way you planned, the more the rules will change before your eyes. This is a lesson in letting go.
