Poetry is a Part of Me

Poetry

is a part of me

it won't go away

but I want it to stay

it comes when it wants to

and leaves when it needs to

I try to capture

never sure

what I need to say

but poetry has a way

of finding it and getting the message out

I feel my soul scream and shout

that's what poetry is all about

I know it's an art

and I take it to heart

my heart and soul speak words I don't dare to say

that is the art of poetry come what may

it may leave me vulnerable to my dismay

but I wouldn't give it up anyway

Author's Notes/Comments: 

I love the whole creative process that allows me to be a part of it and thank God for blessing me with this gift. I am using it cuz I don't wanna be losing it...When God gives you gifts, there was a bible story about that...basically use it or lose it so I am trying to make time to continue using it...thrive on the positive feedback here...Pam

agree 100% with your description and never give up your writing, not for anything or anyone, I made that mistake years ago but never would herein........
