Way out of time in an outer space
and then the cosmic concussion set in
A castle on a green river - moat emoting treason
Full of songs and sorrows that drive one mad
Madrigal mandarins mesmerized many
Orbitting dizzy...one way...red moon...out
Tumultuous terror versus the serenity of man
And the empty slate was erased...yet again it was blank
Not looking through the cosmic eye wondering what is said
You know not what you do but it's real
The peace and quiet of loud noise broke the sound barrier
Newspaper parapet - a carnival of clouds
Get out of the clouds and into the sun
And all was still...and all was moving...and all was...was...
Author's Notes/Comments:
This was written in 1988 with two of my best friends ever in the Universe...they wish to remain anonymous...anyways...this is some of the most creative collaborative poetry we ever did as a group and it was totally spontaneous as most good stuff is for me anyways...poetry wise and otherwise too I guess...anyways..we went to see an abstract play at Theater Oobleck called The Slow and Painful Death of Sam Shepard and we were running late and they sold out, so we stayed in their coffee shop and wrote poetry instead...the thing is, we each wrote a line off the top of our heads and passed around the piece of paper folded over so we could not read what the last person wrote and it is so abstract and flows too well and you can actually read each poem forwards and backwards and it still works...meaning start with the last line like with this one start with and all was still...and move on up and it is too neat...I love it...Oh yeah, people have said what were you on and I told them remember caffeine is a dangerous drug and here is my proof but it is so creative maybe not such a bad drug but out there...way out there...caffeine rules...oh yeah in case anyone cares or is wondering my lines start with the second one and then skip two lines cuz of two friends...those are my lines just incase you are wondering...or care..If you liked this brain candy check out the other two the trio did...And If You Don't Believe Me and Straight from the Horse's Mouth...enjoy...
Great job! Three for the price of one.
I have to say I like this poem better backwards, however, it is good both ways.
I love the name of this poem, it's very creative. Good job on this poem.
Cool stuff. Now we know why all the beat poets hung out in coffee shops.
Parthenogenesis is as parthenogenesis does.
ah yes caffeine, coffee for the simpler to understand, that which stimulates as does anything we encounter.Ideas imagination fantasy reality, what ever the moment will bring.Ah then, isnt fantasy and imagination one persons unreality and someone elses reality of course it is it depends ont he perception of the individual. Love the title on this piece really eyecatching. Piece itself dramatic but yet simple message. Excellent write
