THE WAR ON CUPCAKES THAT I WITNESSED

baking competitions be damned
this was out and out full fledged food war
I mean there was actual flour on the floor
the defrocked chefs were mussed
eyes spewing repeated how dare you's
tempers were in high gear
ovens were hot
nostrils flair
and organic supplies strewn the counters
Hostess and Krispy Creme were alerting
the media
their legal dream teams were assembling
those fattening doughnut and cup cake makers
would not go down without a fight
America would keep her waistline
t'was a most ugly sight
the likes the food network had  never
born witness to before
confectioner turncoats
vowing the need for the diet's change
ignorantly wading into the sugar lovers' battle
figuratively speaking
fur will fly....................

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Was watching the food network late one night and two chefs, one who was into more natural cooking and one who was a pastry chef got into a slight verbal tussle about the goodness or lack there of of true goodness of cupcakes. It was a minor battle of ideas only but I pondered what if it became a fist to cuffs battle how would that come across and this poem was born of that idea.

How so very flattering that is to read.............

I think that too about others on here. Lady Allets is one. Dove writes some amazing stuff and healing woman too. When you want to be inspired just cruise through the public list here of authors posting and you will find so many amazing talents to be amazed over. Bishu and Aditya are ones too, emmenay as well oh and you can't miss humanpulse but I do sincerely thank you for your lovely complimentary comments. I'll read much more of your work and we can compare notes of life. happy writing, Melissa
