for a poet
it's hard to admit
that words cannot always say
just what love can do
though patterns speak volumes
even to eyes that belong to hearts
that no longer hear
the faint sweetness of love's symphony
as rivers hardly flood harbors that remain
untrue
carelessly mislead
too many seek that of which they have
no idea
so it's easy to overlook gems one
mistakes for useless rocks
and 'Sunrises For Sunsets'
in the misery of
their broken internal clocks.................

Author's Notes/Comments:
In this I was mostly trying to touch upon how some are so injured by damaged loves had in their past that they close themselves down and never manage to learn from their experiences and create the tools in themselves to better find love later in life once they have healed. Some let those old wounds fester and choose to revisit the past rather than move on and attempt to sort out the future rocks from the gems. Some just never allow themselves to develop the tools they need to even begin that particular sorting. They merely take what comes and often go against their gut and or better judgment only to crash and burn again and again. This poem in its brevity attempts to address those very ideas........
Nice work! Very true.
Yes I agree there is that change of perception that pain brings once bitten twice shy, I loved the imagery in this piece it was lovely and in keeping. Cheers SS
