'Your Lonesome Caught Spark'
now look back and take a gander
at that blaze
bonfires of vanities
would be ever too envious
not that I'd care for only our love
in my heart is the rage
your wee morning blues
so tattered and abused
I take out now for a sunny afternoon
and stitch new seams to their sleeves
you are a walk up the side of Mount Everest
a rock slide in reverse
beauty in tender repose
sweet melancholy
threatening no one
just nudging the heart
towards what is important
depth
without fracture
kindness
without ridicule
peace cradled
in the arms of compromise
which means
you accepting this flawed yet
articulate woman
in the place of an ideally perfect
dream love
that you have always longed for
cry me a river and
you can bathe in my ocean
until our days are
no more
of this earth................................
