trapped in our own personal bouts of discord

the world clambers for a foothold on its own

individual sanity

hemisphere by hemisphere

continent by continent

country by country

state by state

city by city

hamlet by hamlet

ghetto by ghetto

street by street

all is fodder and subject

for and to change

the achievements

can topple like dominoes

if not carefully put into place

and displayed for all to

enjoy

the strong hold of one authoritarian power

has its hefty price

yet so can be said for the banner of

freedom

the only difference being

many are forced to die for one

while many willingly die for the other

we are not so different

we want the same things

security

acceptance

love

prosperity

their voices to be heard

but most of all

a recognized place

not only in the macrocosm

of this vast strange diverse world

but as well

in the arms and graceful welcome

of the here after

no matter what their umbrella of

Religious belief.....................
