though the everyday scenes of childhood

are far now behind us

but oh how their sweet simplistic beauty

comes around still every once in a while

to help remind us of what innocent, happy

ignorant little loving trusting creatures

we once were

a virtual gift from God to our parents or

so we were told this

often enough in church

yet sometimes on certain days

I'd be willing to bet that my own mother

would have heartily disagreed.........
