JOURNAL#5

she's not tall

she's on the heavier side of whats called thin

she has no idea where she's going

still

she can tell you down to the tiniest detail

of every place she's ever been

one day she'll be gone and hopefully

I won't have the dismal pleasure of remembering

just when

I do love her even though she can be worse than

an old wet mother hen

for she is after all when all is said and done

my blood and kin

In regard to my recent neglect

I ease my guilt just a bit by paying tribute to a most

loving individual via this kind pen

and let me say thank you for loving me dearest

sister once again

I knew you were special long before now

about the time I must have been oh around ten......

Author's Notes/Comments:

a tribute poem to my oldest sister Wendy who was loving and very special. she died in Jan. of 1995 of breast cancer but I wrote this poem long before she was ever diagnosed. I am glad now I get to share her with the world at last......
