I read your names today

and felt the painful fragments

of the divided country you came home to

and that of your loved ones' loss

the debt we owe you is tremendous

damn near staggering in fact

you purchased for the future our freedom

with the precious spillage of your blood

and the offering up of your very own lives

in day after day of often gruesome deed

its true

so we must never forget

you are all back where you belong

God's own pride and joy

home once again

soldiers and heroes to this world

prodical sons and brothers to the next

this wall houses but the names

of the bodies you so selflessly sacrificed

so those yet to come could live free

our hearts and tears stand proud

in the shadows of your spirits memory....
