we stand agape in the path
of a scattered dancing mist
before the quiet holiday
with fevers high
the inconsiderate heat mangles
any prior good will we had towards the coast
as a fast graying shade of apathy squanders
away any and all temporal admirability and good
grace
the will of the people has been suddenly
silenced in an unbearable choke hold of stifling
torrents of unforgiving rain and thunderously
angry ocean swells
filling the already panic driven
with further bouts of dread
over visions of likely devastation
worriless to the end though I say never fear
for the God of tomorrow
holds as well, our every today proudly
and safely in the palm of his all loving hand

a very good poem and relevant to the current hurricane devestation...
Very descriptive. It must be awful to live with the fear of such forceful storms. I am glad we do not have them in N.Z.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
Wonderfully written with lots of imagery that shows us the strength behind the hurricane.
Well worth the read.

I have never experienced a Hurricane so can only imagine. And then, probably not even coming close!
Initially I wondered if this was about Armageddon...I guess I was close there!
