fostered in my mind

there inhabits a thought

reverent is this day

not for it's holiday signifigance

but the underlying reasons

we as humans venture out

to seek the peace and council

and conversation of

close individuals

perhaps not as close as we would like

but those of the same spirit

who seek us out  as well

and make us part of their own

tradition of the extended family unit

with blood  lines set aside

it is the created family that kindles

the true hearth and generosity

that is home
