In a dream
I asked Jesus
did you miss me
and he said yes
with such conviction
every moment that you were away
but you were never truly away from me
nor I you
It was always an illusion
one I constructed
so you could better learn
without the full weight
of my glory's most perfect influence
upon your weakened human shoulders
and did I do alright
I asked
near fearful of his answer
and his entire lighted being
beamed upon me
as he said
you exceeded beyond my earthly dreams
for you
my child
now come
let us walk together
as there are many
quite eager to become reacquainted
with your laughter and gentleness again
as he said this
I knew
that had I beheld him
with human eyes at that very moment
the tears of my joy
would have never stopped flowing!
