talking fast
and walking slow
I couldn't help but hear
a couple passing me by
breaking up
their pain
suddenly invading
my lovely day
punched me in the gut
when I got home
I cried as I was washing
my hands
'Transference'
that's what medical experts
would label it..........

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Recalling a lovely, but suddenly emotionally darkened walk I took in the local park this past summer. Funny how another individual's hurt can manifest in you a stranger to the original origin of the experienced pain and make your day dissolve too.
