'Outwardly, I Crawl in'
mortally
inlets roam naked
dungeons, acquaintances
dance I do
between the dapples of
the waning light
quite grievous of their spawn
pirouetting almost perfectly
for the moon's delight
I laughingly
slide, I
into the milky dazzlement
sing sayingly
(do you believe) ye
I believe too celestial companion
in yonder sphere
that you are perfectly made
of rose petals' dew
and goodbye
of until we meet again
and debris...........

e e cummings
the last time i read him I got a headache. I tried, I really did. `a~
.
Just Googled e e cummings who died in 1962. Thanks for letting me take a look at 100 selected poems. He uses language nicely - a naturalist who is indeed a member of his time's writing era - he experiments nicely too. After the tenth poem, the sameness came across. Maybe it was the editor, but I'd have to look at him decade by decade for a complete survey. He wrote four plays - maybe I'll check them out. ~allets~

this is one of the E. E. Cummings poems that really
hit my heart hard
my father moved through dooms of love
