CONFISCATED

JOURNAL # 41

In a leap less faith
I forget myself while thinking
about you
a loss of wind gathers no storm
tourniquets stave off no blood negative vein
where there is the opportunity to love
regularly lurks the chance of life choking
alteration
we in human form are problematic children
roving darkened streets
we cause problems as we grow
among our many complaints
in moral ineptitude we defy
our innumerable defeats
challenged by a passing few
we accept or negate that gauntlet
thrown down
to be better people
beyond what we once were
challenge tends to be a favored tool
of God
disguised as something others vehemently
declare we must not even attempt to do
fight is the guttural cry of the higher self
I went with my gut
I fought stupendously
and brilliantly lost my heart in one epic dying
sweep
that same mentioned organ in a word
you shamelessly 'Confiscated'
the fire of my disbelief
continues to even this day burn away my tears
just as fast as they are able to form
destroyed yet impressed as I am
I cannot regret the abundance of shared thoughts
and love that once flowed so uninterrupted
between us............

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was thinking about an old love that for the most part is no more and likely never will be again and how even though I was regretfully hurt I can't regret the whole entire endeavor. I got a lot of good out of that relationship. It was in a sense my dance and though it would have been nice to skip all that pain in the end I would have had to skip that dance too and that was something I doubt I could willfully forfeit even if I knew how it would end as Trisha Yearwood sang in one of her songs I would have loved you anyway! It's hard to come to that realization it kind of takes the blame off the other person a bit more so than one would like to admit. Anyway, Enjoy the effort and the aim of my attempt if you enjoy nothing else.

Trisha's song was titled I would have loved you anyway!

It's a lovely song along with real live woman. I mentioned the title in the author's comments but never stated it was the actual title. Songs nowadays I think are a strong basis for reference, ,knowledge and backdrop for many poets. It's not just literature and reading anymore. I'm sure in the 1800's it would have been the same had records and recordings been around. I thank you for your comments sincerely, happy writing, Melissa
