Sitting here in my
Room snacking
On cheez-it
Awaken
Some wonderful
Deep within me.
As I place them
Into my mouth
My eyes
Become
Sad as think
About you
Sitting at school
At snack back
In the day.
Chewing these
Cheez-it
A couple at a time
With a pen in your
Hand drawing
Spiderman & batman
And eating all the time
Without missing a line.
Makes me wish
God hadn’t took
You to be with him
So young and gave you
More time.
But I know god took
You because your body
Needed to rest.
It still makes
Me cry
Although I know
We’re suppose
To rejoice
When somebody dies.
Although I know
You’re sleeping
Peaceful up above me.
I can’t help
But miss you
And wish you
Still here
With me
