How to Look at a Pumpkin

~How to Look at a Pumpkin~

Usually in October,
when frost hits the scene,
there's the pumpkin.

We assume the pumpkin's
nubby stem is on its top,
but that's because it's usually seen
as an ornament on porches, lawns,
holiday displays and the like,
but let's consider closely

the pumpkin in its field:

See how it's attached to the vine,
and how what we assume
to be the top points east, west,
north or south, but rarely skyward?

Truth is, the pumpkin has only two sides:
A smooth out side
and a warm, moist in side,
like a woman.
