How often, oh God,

Do we forget

forget to thank you?



Every day,

you wake us up.

Every day,

you feed and clothe us.

Every day,

you provide for us.



So why, oh father,

do we forget?

Why do we not

open our mouths

and cry out "THANK YOU!"



You are God.

You require nothing from us.

But, oh god,

how could we not?

How could we forget?

How could we resist?



You deserve glory.

You deserve praise

But above all, Lord,

You deserve unending thanks.



Let us not forget.

Let us not resist.

Let us not cease.

Let thanks forever be on our lips.
