I saw a hummingbird today.
It flitted past my head.
Then swooped about a foot away
Into my flower bed.

I couldn't see which bloom he chose
As he vanished in the leaves.
But I could hear his thrumming wings
As I sowed my flower seeds.

I wonder how the atheist
Can view such wondrous things,
And still refuse acknowledgment
Of the God of beaks and wings.

Do they not see the beauty there
And know no accident,
Could possibly make such rare and rich
A creature as God sent?

Perhaps they have no hope within
To help them realize,
That God Himself could be their guest--
A hummer in disguise.

Those last two lines were the best. Isn't God the greatest?
