There's pause in summer's rush this eve.
I find it peaceful, sweet.
A quiet hush surrounds my chair.
I'm calm from head to feet.
Day's work is done and I am too.
I hear my husband speak.
"Baby," he says with emotion,
(It makes my knees go weak.)
"Let's go out for a sunset drive,
Watch it set at the lake."
I look into his loving eyes.
Heat there my breath then takes.
"OK," I sigh. He takes my hand.
We exit side by side.
Jim whispers "Baby" and leads me
Off for a sunset ride.
Nice poem...very sensual.
Jess, this is one of the most romantic poems I've ever read. It reflects nothing but true love!

Thank you, Mrs. Martin!
You make one pause, /
and feel the comfort YOU find in the pause. /
You make one sense YOUR scents. /
You make one "hear" YOUR hush. /
You make one feel YOUR calm. /
You make one know YOUR words. /
.....the sweetness of "Baby".....
.....the depth of its emotion....
.....the warmth of sunset on skin....
.....the chill & thrill of togetherness....
.....the meaning of your "O.K." as a sigh.....
You DO know how to carry one away!!!!

Oh Baby, baby! That's so cool.
Did you really go? I know you could use it.
