Christmas Without You
The lights of blue and amber,
Glow softly on the tree.
But they seemed to shine more brightly,
When you sat here, Love, with me.
The tinsel and the angel,
Still glisten in the light.
But I know the shine has lessened
Since you kissed and held me tight.
You left a gilt-wrapped package
All tied with ribbon red.
You left the scent of aftershave
Still drifting 'ore our bed.
You left the sprig of mistletoe
Tacked snugly on the door.
You left inside my chest an ache
That hourly hurts me more.
Through all this Yuletide season
While we're so far apart,
Christmas just won't be the same,
For you took with you my heart.
Music: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Very nicely said Jessica. The music and pictures are just the right touch also.
