Cello Pin
In my jewelry box there's a pin.
It doesn't have expensive stones.
It probably won't impress you,
Lying on satin all alone.
Somewhere long ago he earned it
For playing cello in the band.
Oh! That little pin is precious!
Although you may not understand.
It represents the tenderness
Inside that youth now fully grown.
When I lift the lid and look in...
I see it! Ah-h-h, I'm not alone.

Author's Notes/Comments:
Funny how some old pin can spark a warm thought...
I had to laugh at this! I once called my wife a pack rat for saving things such as this...then I realized without thinking, that I did the same thing! But, I really don't want to part with such treasures either! Nice write!
This one gives a person a warm feeling inide and that is very nice.
I have a wooden letter opener with an eagle's head for a handle that gives me the same feeling jessica. I keep it in my briefcase where it is the first thing I see when I open it.
such good memories ,,,
peace and love ~~~ Dougie ~~
This poem reminds me of one that I wrote some time ago.The true value of a thing is not neccesarily anything to do with its monetary value.A very enjoyable and well-written poem.I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Smile.. it is the cheapest facelift.
Thanks; it's good to know it's appreciated.
"Poe" I'm not, nor "Rich" am I,
