Some teens are "cool" and are glad that they are
Since anything else is a bore,
I get "cool receptions" sometimes from adults
And wonder what lies at the core.
"Cool" isn't my way--don't like it at all,
It's a small sneaky way to conform.
I've long been and still am a Rebel,
Excluding the trite and the norm.
What's wrong with "honest", "sincere", or plain "real",
A person who feels and responds?
What's wrong with a "cuddler"? A "stroker"? A "bubbler"?
And whatever happened to "WARM"?
"Cool" maybe fine for appeasing one's peers,
And it might make you look what you're not,
But it won't pick you up when life knocks you flat,
And you've lost everything that you've got.
Warm is a way of greeting the world
No restraining yourself one iota.
And if YOU've not tried it,
You've certainly missed out
And I think perhaps, friend, that you oughta'.
This is so true. Be warm, be yourself, and watch what difference you can make.
