Hindsight

You know what they say about hindsight...

It's easy to see what went wrong,

But I look back in time and I wonder

How I loved you so true for so long.

The facts haven't changed and I lived them,

So I know all the myths and the lies.

I tried everything before leaving,

Put to memory your sweet alibis.

Was there anything I could have done then,

To have changed you and kept you as mine?

Huh! When Hell freezes over I'll try some,

But until then I'm doing just fine.

Hello Jessica, Thank you for telling me about this poem. It does have quite an impact,at least for me. Also thank you for critiquing the few words I have posted. I am not a writer by any means.Finding all of your poems is like finding a gold mine that will keep me digging for treasure. Best Wishes, Spanky

Hi Jess,
Thanks for leading me to this one. This is great! It certainly appears we have minds of the same, doesn't it? I often wonder why we put ourselves through so much anguish before we finally decide to do something about it.

You tell it like it is in this well written poem, blunt and to the point! Great job, I really enjoyed reading this.

Thanks,
Tricia
