You Gave Me A Reason

You Gave Me A Reason

Each day's end was empty

as the one that came before.

Lonely was my world,

but I expected nothing more.

I hid behind the music

that I played for endless hours.

Unfamiliar music,

with no memory in its power.

I wrote romantic stories

with a vixen as the star.

I lived through them vicariously,

no evil could then mar.

My life was cold and vacuous,

and I had no hope of change.

Your love gave me new purpose

and my world you rearranged.

Your honesty and candor

broke through that wall I'd built.

Your laugh, your charm, your frankness

sifted pain like silt.

You gave to me a reason

to come home, to smile, to live.

You daily take my sorrow

as you give and give and give.

I don't know how I got you

with your tenderness and praise,

But Jim, I swear I'll cherish you

forever and a day.

A lovely poem filled with light! It made me think of something I've read: Some people come into your life for a season, some for a reason and some for a lifetime - and with time we'll learn which one it will be. This poem is actually a beautiful song - a beautiful reason to sing!

Nicolette

Hey, "Boss", you'd better stop that, or I'll start crying in my beer, and you know I don't drink.
Thank you,
Jim

Jessica,
That is so sweet!
Remember what I said in the email....what comes around, goes around. Well I think your goodness and happiness has come around and back to you.
