Unto a land known just to me, of lovely long agos. Upon the wings of memory to days that I have known. Forgotten to all others, this now forsaken land of yesterdays, broken dreams, and ever shifting sands.
Life has left me wanting in oh, so many ways. Loves I've lost, friends who've changed, and failures in the way. It's dust upon the mantle now, in a far and distant land. Yet it hinders my progression still, as ever shifting sands.
I've seen love at it's finest hour, a bright and steady flame. It burns still in the lonely night of forgotten yesterdays. Yet I watch it start to flicker and slip right through my hands, uncertain as a house that's built on ever shifting sands.
I'll love again, I know I will, for love is part of me. But will I find a lasting love? We'll have to wait and see. For feelings change as do the times and fickle summer winds. For love is like a wind that blows ore’ ever shifting sands.
