A Future Christmas

I watch as the snow falls and chills the ground,

Nothing can pierce the silence of the night sound,

Whispering trees flail in the breeze,

I have always dreamed, of nights like these,

Inside people warm in front of the fire,

I stop outside on the street, just to watch and admire,

A snowflake comes to rest on my shoulder,

It slowly melts away, knowing like it, there will be no other,

As I walk down the street I watch the snow falling in the light,

It casually falls, wafting into the luminescence and then again, out of sight,

I reach my house, my home, my abode,

To see you dressing the tree, in nothing but your silken robe,

I hear your footsteps come near as I turn my keys in the door,

It opens to the view of your face, so beautiful, so pure,

I gently place my lips on yours,

Look into your eyes, just to stare and to pause,

We walk to the rug in front of the fire,

Crawl up together until we slowly tire,

My eyes draw heavy as do yours,

And I fall asleep, in the arms of the woman I adore.
