The Downpour

Its cloudy outside,

The chants form the children are hard to ignore as the wind  blows our troubles away

Tonight,the rain falls,making our tears less sour,and eventually washing it away

Yes! our crops will have enough to drink;

Making our farmers less poor and giving the outspoken something to say

"Na sika kasa!"

Tonight,we forget about the leakages in our roofs

We unchain our inner children,we let them loose

We are in high spirits,every raindrop feels like a booze

Curfews dont apply,because tonight,even the King is a victim to his rules

Ataa naa ny)m), Oyiwala d)) (thank you God),

Thanks for answering our prayers

Praises run through our cracked lips as our soles thump the waters

But beware!!! the wrath of the thunder all you evil doers

May it strike down anyone who plots evil against his brothers

Women cling on to their husbands;

The weather,a natural aphrodisiac to help increase population numbers

For the kids will be sleeping soon and we shall  boldly embrace our pleasures

Hope you dont stop crying God,

For it is believed to be your tears

For our ways are too appalling,

So continue to grace us with this chill as some of us are bound for hell

For the heavy downpour is now a drizzle

And soon we will have to face our fears

Curse you sun! and curse your cursed out spells

And bless you moon,for your interventions,i know you wish us well!!

The gleam in our eyes disappear as the drops become countable

Returning to its mundane state as our joy become invisible

For once again the village becomes expendable

So we go back indoors;

To sleep with weapons in hand because we hold anybody in our nightmares accountable..
