Time and Light

Other Poems

Achievements rise above the ground.

Blood seeps through the cracks in the road.

Oceans disappear,

Deserts grow.

Light appears,

And night fades away.

Goals of greatness,

And victories of pain.

Wars of love,

And revenge of hate.

And still the light appears,

And night fades away.

Mind control,

And deaths of souls.

All the same,

Yet all different too.

Breeding us to be dumb.

The smart are shot,

And those undeserving are placed on pedestals.

The sun rises in the night,

The blaze of light,

Shines out across time.

Night runs and hides,

To return some other time,

This same day.

Those in charge,

Know less then those in graves.

Six feet under, and still smarter.

Six feet from life,

And fated to death.

We will end up in a grave,

No one lives forever.

It’s the path we take to it that counts,

Not how big our tombs are,

Not how many monuments are built for us,

Not how nice a gravestone looks.

It’s the life we lead that means more.

The monuments don’t honor the dead,

They honor the life of the dead.

And we can't fight fate,

But we can twist it for ourselves.

Make what we want,

Live whatever life suits us.

And do whatever we please.

The ultimate freedom.

No education,

No police,

Nothing but our instincts.

Killing each other,

For food,

For survival.

Its no different then our civilized world.

Fighting for spite,

For fun,

For hate.

Its all bricks in a wall...

And for as long as we have been,

And for a little while longer,

The sun still rises on us,

The sun still shines on our lives.

We still are alive,

And for a short time longer,

Will awake for a new day.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'm not exactly sure, what its about, but it has to do with us, or at least how i see it.
