Whirlwind Disaster

Folder:
2006-07 Poems

See him moaning,

A dieing animal,

Crying in corners.

Stalking the night,

Avoiding the light.

Watch him collapse.

See him cry out in pain.

Torment of the soul.

You saw inside,

And weren’t scared away.

You saw the disaster,

See him fade faster.

The gray fades,

The white remains.

Colors drip from the wall,

Motionless in the hall.

Haunting strings,

Violins playing,

Just the instruments,

The soft,

Curved wood.

A light mahogany.

The deep rich sound,

Yet no ones playing.

They just float on their own,

The sound they emit,

Soundtrack to the disaster.

Watch him fade faster.

The sun cries from the sky,

The light blurs in the evening sky.

Red sky at night,

Sailors delight.

Calm water,

The ship sailing away from here.

Sailing to the end.

The bottom,

The top.

The tears of the sun,

Hit the water,

The storm,

The crack of thunder,

Burst of lighting.

The whirlwind disaster,

Watch him fade faster.

Watch him fade,

Slowly,

Quietly.

You barely notice.

Each day something else inside dies.

The eyes get most distant.

The heart colder,

The ice grows.

Slowly fading away,

Into the grays,

They get lighter,

Till there’s only white.

White light.

The sun,

Crying into night.

Tonight.

Watch him fade faster,

A whirlwind of disaster,

Fading faster,

Faster.
