It is a promise,

That if you dont pull your weight

Someone else will pull it instead,

It is a promise

That if you don't listen to my fears,

Someone else will be my ear

And if your actions don't match your words,

Mark my own

Someone else will be my world.

And leaving my feelings ignored

And leaving my pain unnoticed

And leaving my food uneaten

And leaving my bed unslept in,

You are leaving my heart,

To somebody else,

It is a promise,

It is a promise that I can do well in life,

That I can provide for myself and my child,

it is a promise,

That the door will be closed to you

And the locks will be changed,

And the courts will be informed,

And the only bitch crying

Will be you.
